6.34.1 Expanding and reducing: normal

The normal command expands and reduces expressions in ℤ/pℤ[x]. (See also Section ‍6.12.13.)

• normal takes one argument:
  expr, a modular expression.
• normal(expr) returns the expanded irreducible representation of expr.
